The jewel in the crown – Rotonda!

Easily and by a significant margin, Rotonda incorporates all the very best of Florida in one outstanding location – natural surroundings, mile after mile of pristine beaches and unbelievably stunning sunsets.

Rotonda, protected by virtue of being a Deed Restricted Community, with its wide elegant palm tree lined boulevards, is set amongst thirty (30) square miles of natural habitat punctuated with lakes and canals.

Rotonda also now boasts:

*  At least five (5) challenging golf courses within its boundaries and at least the same number again within a twenty (20) minute driving radius.

*  Plus fishing and boating not only at Rotonda but also at the world famous sports fishing grounds including marlin off Boca Grande which is only a six (6) mile drive to the south.

The placid warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico beckon and caress the soft white sandy beaches that are only four to five (4-5) miles from Rotonda, starting with Englewood Beach and the ten-mile run of beaches all the way up to Manasota Key. Shells and sharks’ teeth abound on the seashore, if you are a shelling enthusiast.

Both in and around Rotonda you will be amazed to find excellent shopping, dining and entertainment facilities to suit all tastes and all ages.

What your holiday is really going to miss out on are the crowds, the cacophony of city noises, grid-locked traffic jams, parking problems, air pollution and above all those steep high-street prices. Rotonda, in stark contrast, is tranquil, natural, cheap and totally laid back.

Florida’s Little Known Treasures

Florida’s South West Gulf Coast conceals countless miles of calming natural beauty, revealing undisturbed clean and often deserted beaches blessed with beautifully clear waters. This coastline consists of a series of keys, effectively huge sandbars, which have matured into a chain of charming islands, running along the total length of the coastline.

With sophisticated Sarasota to the north and historic Punta Gorda to the south, the visitor will discover an area offering its own unique cocktail of old world charm and new world trappings.

The attractions of Clearwater, St. Pete’s Beach, Anna Maria Island, to name but a few, act as more renowned magnets to holiday-makers seeking respite from the hectic ‘hurly-burly Orlando scene’ or to inhabitants from northern USA seeking southern warmth. Slightly further a-field, many are aware of fashionably expensive Naples and Fort Myers, home of the inventor Edison.

Tucked well away from all the well-known tourist lures is an overlooked section of gorgeous coastline, with shimmering white sandy beaches, seas ranging from translucent sky-blues to deep sea-greens, tranquil tropical verdant landscapes as far as the eye can see and when the sun goes down, magical sunsets ‘to die for’.

Added to this is an average annual temperature of 23° Celsius (75†F) so it’s hardly surprising why those people who have been fortunate enough to discover one of Florida’s little known treasures have been loathe to share their secret.

If it is a very relaxed, unhurried life-style against an idyllic tropical backdrop that you long for, the like of which you often see portrayed in TV holiday programmes or films, but which also effortlessly provides an extensive array of outdoor activities, shopping, cuisine and entertainment, then look no further.

This part of Florida is an ideal base for day trips out to explore such popular locations as:

*  The ‘Everglades’ just 2 hours drive to the south
*  Tampa Bay with Busch Gardens 90 minutes drive to the north
*  Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World in Central Florida, only 2.5 hours drive away.

We only have two major seasons to worry about – winter and summer! The winter period covers October to April inclusive and it’s the busiest time of year with seasonal residents returning and inhabitants from the Northern States trying to escape the worst of the ravages of winter.

Therefore you’ll need to plan ahead to nip in ahead of everyone to ensure your place in paradise with unlimited sunshine. Conversely, during the summer period covering May to September inclusive, the visitor can experience a much more tranquil and secluded holiday.
